Day 170

I thought it was about time to dust off Scully (or more accurately, scrape the mud off her). Scully is such a drama queen, and she always inspires me to take silly shots.

Here she is playing a 50s starlet, lounging on the veranda of her seaside villa.

And here she is again, playing that cinematic icon, the impaled skeletal warning to criminals. Criminal sheep, presumably. ;-)

And finally, here's another shot from my photo walk yesterday.

Day 120

Back in December, when I first found Scully the sheep skull, I promised to post a photo of her at least once a month.

Here's one I took a couple of weeks ago, but never got around to posting.

And here's today's shot, in which she's doing a pretty good impression of a crocodile!

Day 108

Today I set up my tripod outside and took loads of photos of the washing on the line, blowing in the wind, but although the motion blur effect worked well, none of the shots were good enough to share. I'll try again another day.

I did get three half-decent shots of animals, though; one dead one and two that are still alive.

This one's a Canon shot, which I processed over at Picnik.com, which is a great new find, and will be my pick for The Saturday Site this week.

Day 95

I don't often use the Filter Gallery in Photoshop, but I decided to experiment with this photo of Scully, and I think it works quite well with the watercolour filter.

I can't hear the word 'watercolour' without thinking of that scene in 'Spaced' where Daisy meets Brian for the first time:

Tim tells Daisy that Brian's an artist, and she asks him what sort of things he does.
Brian replies, 'Anger...pain...fear...aggression.'
'Watercolours?' asks Daisy.

We put up our first couple of window coverings last night: wooden Venetian blinds in the kitchen. I liked the way the light was coming in through them, so I grabbed this Hipstamatic shot. Venetian blinds remind me of growing up in the seventies -- they are the epitome of 'retro cool'. ;-)

Day 77

This spider would appear to have made Scully its home!

Here's a close-up. Don't you just love that flap of skin still sticking to the skull?! ;-)

Day 58

Today's photo is shot no. 3 in the 'Monthly Skull' series. Here's Scully as you've never seen her before. "All right, Mr De Mille, I'm ready for my close-up!"

Day 37

The sheep's skull I found a few weeks ago now lives on our veranda, by the front door. In the mid afternoon the light from one of the skylights shines on the skull, and it looks as though it's on stage, caught in a spotlight.

Alas, poor Ewe-rick...
