Day 342

This morning I spotted a spider hanging by a thread from the veranda roof. She was hauling herself upwards, grabbing onto the taut thread above her with two of her front legs, and holding onto the loose thread with a couple of her back legs.

I'm delighted to have got a shot this good with my mediocre kit lens. I'm looking forward to playing around with that macro lens I'm going to buy once the house sale has gone through! :-)

Day 277

I've got two photos to share today: one pretty and one gruesome.

By the way, thanks to everyone who voted in the latest Top Pic(k)s poll. The winning photo was the one of the lambs. (My favourite was the horses.)

Day 94

It was a spectacular moonset last night, but I failed to get any decent shots of it, because I don't have a tripod. Even with the shutter wide open and the ISO set to 1600, I was getting shutter speeds of 1/6 of a second, so everything was grainy and very blurry. I think a tripod has just jumped to the top of my photo wish list, ahead of a macro lens.

One good thing about autumn is that you get lots of opportunities to shoot dew, which is something I love. Here are a couple of shots I took this morning.

I think this one looks more interesting as a colour negative.

Day 77

This spider would appear to have made Scully its home!
