I really, *really* want a macro lens!
I spotted this little fella climbing up our doorway this evening, shortly before sunset. I'm pretty sure it's a cricket, but feel free to correct me if I've got it wrong. Even after six years in New Zealand the sound of crickets on a summer night still delights me. There's nothing comparable in the UK, and it sounds so exotic and foreign.
Looks to me like a grasshopper. Crickets are smaller and usually black or brown in color. Oh how I miss the sounds of crickets in the summer(I am originally from Ohio USA)as you say there is nothing like it in the UK. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous shot! He seems to look directly into the camera!
ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful - lovely green and such delicate legs. I think this is great considering you don't have a macro lens. Yet!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't summer unless there is a cricket chirping. This is quite a portrait.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic macro Helen!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done.
