Day 195

I spotted this snail in the grass outside the house.

When I was about eight I went on holiday to Cornwall, to stay with my aunt, who ran a guest house. There was a wonderful old stone wall in her garden, which was home to dozens of huge snails, and I was fascinated by them. When I got home, I kept some pet snails for a while.

I was a strange kid!

  1. LOVE THIS! Love pet snails. I was enthralled by the giant snail in one of the Dr. Doolittle films...

  2. Wonderful shot. I like how you have focused on the shell instead of the snails head.

  3. No, no! You weren't strange. Both my sister and I had pet snails! Mine was called Felix and hers was called Felicity. Lord knows how we worked out that one was male and one female :-)
