Day 316

I've had a go at the shot with the hammer.

I've made two versions, but I'm not sure which one works better.

In Version 1 the focus is on the hammer, with the strawberry out of focus.

In version 2 the focus is on the strawberry, with the hammer out of focus. I've also added motion blur to the hammer in Photoshop, to try to create the impression of the hammer swinging down.

I'd be interested to know which version you prefer, and why.

I would of like to have seen the hammer in focus with some motion blur. I am not a fan of elements that are out of focus in the foreground. If you reshoot this try a black background to give the hammer and strawberry a 'scary" look.

PS I posted two other comments that don't show up I the posts, not sure why?

  2. Thanks for your comment, Joe. I've now eaten all the strawberries, but it's a subject I may well come back to at some point, and if I do I'll try out your suggestions. I've no idea why your other two comments aren't showing up. They're not showing up for me, either. Blogger's comments can be very glitchy sometimes.

Follow up... I figured out that I had to hit "post comment" about three times to get the warped word for input. I never got that the two times before so they never got to you. I'll make sure I get the warp word on future comments.

  4. I like the second one Helen, for the motion it shows.
    Nicely done!
