Day 150

I was so busy with work stuff today I didn't have time to take a photo break. By the time I realised I hadn't taken any photos yet, it was nearly dark. I rushed outside and grabbed a few quick shots of the sunset, which, if you've been following this blog for any length of time, you'll know is one of my fall back subjects. I find it so much more satisfying when I've had to do some thinking about a shot beforehand; when I've had an idea in mind that I've tried to realise. Snapping the sunset when I'm in a rush and when there's not really a proper subject in the photograph feels like a cop-out.

Here are a couple more shots from the photo shoot an my neighbour's house on Wednesday.

It's the northern hemisphere equivalent of November here now, and even after six years in New Zealand, it still amazes me how the flowers continue to bloom and the insects continue to be active so far into the autumn.

The fungi seem to love the mild climate, too. These ones were huge - the biggest was the size of a dinner plate.

  1. Ooh! I LOVE those mushrooms. Perfect in monochrome.

  2. All amazing shots--the sunset is truly beautiful (even if you took the photo in a hurry), and I love the toadstools or mushrooms, whichever they are. Lovely work. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)
